APPRENTICE SHEET METAL WORKER

Indentured program.  To be considered for this program the candidate must have the following minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent; current California Drivers License.  This is a four year program which involves both class room instruction and on the job training.  Upon completion of the four year program, the graduate is capable of working in the capacity of a journeyman Sheet Metal Worker. 


SERVICE TECHNICIAN APPRENTICE PROGRAM

To be considered for this program the candidate must have the following minimum qualifications: Graduate of HVAC (MEP) related trade school or minimum 3 years of experience as a HVAC (or refrigeration) field technician; and have EPA certification card to handle refrigerants.

Packaged Equipment Mechanic (Level 2), Journeyman Technician (Level 5) and Senior Technician (Level 6) opportunities. To be considered for these opportunities the candidate must have the following minimum qualifications:  NATE certification or equivalent HVAC-R trade school graduate and minimum 2 years field experience as an HVAC Service Technician, or 5 years field experience.  Minimum skill level: Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, read wiring diagrams for the following system types:


Service Tech Level 2

Furnace, package gas/electric (up to 20 tons), split system dx, heat pumps, evaporative coolers, exhaust fans, and thermostats.


Service Tech Level 5

All Level 2 skills plus: Mastery of the refrigeration cycle, basic air and water balance,  water source heat pumps, fan coils, mixing boxes, chillers (recip.), cooling towers, evaporative condensers,  boilers (up to 2 mil BTU), constant volume, VAV, VVT, VRV, and zoning systems.  Ability to diagnose and repair field control devices including electro-mechanical, pneumatic and DDC.


Service Tech Level 6

All Level 5 skills plus basic DDC monitoring, commissioning and programming, expert diagnostician (go to guy when others are stuck), and the ability to assume the lead role on projects including supervising others to meet the goals of the project.  The Level 6 technician is the central point person for the project.

Field Technician-Programmer

To be considered for this opportunity the candidate must meet Level 2 field technician skills plus experience in device programming, converting a plain English sequence of operations to line or block code, device wiring and installation, and site commissioning, including reports.


Controls Project Engineer

To be considered for this opportunity the candidate must have a minimum 4 year degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience in HVAC Controls design including heating/cooling load calculations, duct and pipe sizing, system and equipment selection, specifications and code compliance. Develop controls sequence of operations, shop drawings, device programming, device wiring and installation, site commissioning including reports, purchases and ensures that materials for construction are on site as needed, customer training and customer support through warranty period and beyond. Subcontracts specialized craft work such as electrical, automation, and piping.  Inspects work at sites for compliance with plans, terms and specifications of contract and company standards of quality.

SHEET METAL WORKER

Must be experienced in commercial ductwork installation, blueprint interpretation, equipment installation, various man-lift operations, architectural sheet metal applications and have completed an OSHA ten hour course.


Pipe Fitter

Must have experience with the refrigeration cycle and evacuation procedures, blueprint interpretation, chiller piping, boiler piping, natural gas piping, pipe joining including brazing, threading, press-fit, bolt flange and welding. Possess a knowledge of valves, hangers, backflow preventers, unions, flexible connections and gauges.

CAD Draftsperson

The successful candidates shall possess strong Autocad skills as well as social, written and verbal communication skills to interface with clients, architects, engineers and construction personnel.  Computer skills required include Autocad R-2013 or higher, Navis Works, Excel and Word.  This position involves Autocad drawing for projects from inception to completion including 3-D modeling and coordination of systems with other trades.  The Autocad draftsperson will have the opportunity to learn heating and cooling load simulations, mechanical system design, equipment specification and control system layout.  Other activities include site surveys and field verification.


Project Engineer

Applicant should have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and have a strong background in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, Autocad and thermodynamics, psychrometrics, and posses strong social, written and verbal communication skills. This position involves performing load calculations, building energy simulations and benchmarking, energy code compliance, mechanical system design, equipment specification, control system layout and Autocad drawing.  Other activities include estimating, purchasing, and project management.


Project Manager

Applicant should be a Mechanical Engineer registered in the State of California and interested in designing and managing projects from inception to completion.  The project managers are responsible for the overall success of the project. This person will perform heating and cooling load simulations, energy modeling, mechanical system design, equipment specification, and control system layout.  Other activities include estimating, purchasing, proposal and report generation, project management, field coordination and system commissioning. The successful candidates shall possess strong social, written and verbal communication skills to interface with clients, architects, engineers and construction personnel.  Computer skills required include Load estimating, Outlook, Excel and Word.

The CAR is primarily responsible for the identification and development of new commercial, industrial and institutional service customers. The CAR is responsible for new service agreements-especially preventive maintenance agreements, negotiated service work and project sales with new customers. Desire to perform high volume cold calling is a requirement.


CAR Duties include:

• Identifying, qualifying and closing with clients that have the ability and desire to work with a preferred provider on a negotiated basis.
• Consulting with client management to include establishing rapport, identifying needs, delivering professional sales presentations, overcoming objections and   effective closing.
• Generating proposals that satisfy clients needs and achieve company profit objectives.
• Offering a wide variety of HVACR Services including preventative maintenance agreements.

Great personality and attitude is a must. Technical knowledge of mechanical systems and/or experience in conceptual (non-tangible) sales is a plus. Must possess superior interpersonal skills, and communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be computer literate in word processing and spreadsheets. A valid driver's license is a must. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs to access mechanical room equipment and rooftop equipment for surveys.
